The Comp Time absence type in Easy Clocking Cloud is used to
track earned/owed hours.
To enable the system to calculate comp time, the timecard
must first be approved. Please refer to Managing Out of Shift.

When the pay class is set to automatically deduct lunch breaks and Comp Time, the Lunch Break Time (LBT) column will only show lunch break hours once the Out of Shift hours on the timecard have been approved.
If an employee is scheduled to work 38 hours
per week but has worked 46 hours excluding 30 minutes of lunch break time each day. The difference between the worked hours (46)
and the standard hours (38) is 8 hours. These hours are considered extra hours
and will be calculated as comp time. This allows the employee to use these 8
hours as comp time for future absences, such as taking time off while being
compensated.
1. Employee has worked 46 hours in a week excluding 30 minutes of lunch break time each day. He worked an extra 8 hours.
2. The current available Comp Time hours are 0.00.
3. Go back to the Timecard, approve
the Out of Shift hours, and click Approve & Lock Timecard.
4. Click Submit.
5. Navigate to Paid Time Off to see if the extra 8 hours has been banked automatically in the Comp
Time hours.
6. If the employee requests an RDO or a day off in the next pay
period.
Navigate to Dashboard > Timecards > Select the pay
period > Select the user > Click Timecard Option > Select Add Absences.
7. Select the Comp Time from the “Select the absence type”.
Enter the hours and other relevant details. Click Create.
If you enter hours exceeding the available balance, a
warning will appear indicating that the time will go into negative. To proceed,
you must confirm by clicking the “Yes” button. This absence type will then set
the employee’s Comp Time balance to a negative value.
8. The
absence will be created with the Comp Time for 7.30 hours.
9. The hours are automatically deducted from the “Hours
Available” for the Comp Time. The balance hours are shown in decimal.
